Featured book: Torn Apart by Lyndsay Reade and Mick Middles

‘Torn Apart’ tells the story of the life of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis, who committed suicide in 1980.

Lindsay Reade was one of the founders of Factory Records, along with her then husband Tony Wilson. Mick Middles is one of the UK’s leading music writers, and was the first journalist to interview Joy Division back in the late 70s.

The book contains previously unpublished photos from private collections. The front cover photo is by Paul Slattery. The authors interviewed many people including Ian Curtis’s family and friends, people who worked for Factory Records and most importantly, Annik Honoré, with whom Curtis had an affair in the last year of his life.
