Channel M interview 2: Wind turbines and the Manchester cityscape

Sat ,27/09/2008

This was my second interview on Channel M. The general theme was the effect of power generation on the cityscape of Manchester and its Pennine backdrop.

I was picking up on the issue of Scout Moor wind farm which I touched on during my previous interview on the Manchester Mega-Photo. In the top left hand corner of the Mega-Photo, Scout Moor is visible prior to the addition of the wind turbines and in my opinion looks much better. I was interviewed by Nikki Dean and Byron Evans. For more information about Channel M, television for Manchester, go to www.channelm.co.uk. The Scout Moor website is at www.scoutmoorwindfarm.co.uk/indexorig.html

Apologies, the audio on this version of the videoclip is slightly out of synch.

Grosvenor Picture Palace drawing by Caroline Johnson

Fri ,26/09/2008

Artist Caroline Johnson has sent me a copy of her drawing which is taken directly from one of my photographs.

I think it’s a sensational image as it makes the building look new and bringing out the bright colours of the tiles as they must have looked nearly 100 years ago.

This morning I did another interview on Channel M. The theme was the repurposing of buildings in Manchester, I talked about the former Grand Island building near Whitworth Street West as well as the Victoria Baths.

This regular interview spot on Channel M takes place on the last Thursday of every month. This is the second one I have done subsequent to my original interview about the Manchester mega-photo.

I was interviewed by presenters Nikki Dean and Byron Evans.
